Runners Get Knee Pains, Running and Stress
Athletes and those people that run on a regular basis for fun or exercise should be careful of the shoes that they wear to avoid any knee pains. Wearing shoes that do not offer support in the right areas can cause knee pain. Running with shoes that have extra support in the instep, heel pads and reinforcement in the ball of the foot will help with knee pain from running.
Knee Pains: Running Can Cause Stress
If you have knee pain after running, it can be due to misalignment from shoes or from the path chosen to run. When the route you take to run has obstacles or uneven ground, this can also cause knee pain while running. Knee pain after running can indicate being overweight and a lack of use of the muscles surrounding the knee cap. If you notice knee pain only during a run, this can indicate tendon or ligament problems. Secondary causes for knee pain include:
- Jobs that entail kneeling, lifting or squatting regularly
- Jobs that require long periods of standing in one place
- Shoes that do not offer correct support
